just wondering when the silver fork of the ar is open!?

The road was closed on Wednesday when I drove by. It looked to be free of snow but the gate was locked. The American and it's tribs are open for catch and release all year now. Last week the water was really cold in the American and there doesn't seem to be very many turn outs on Highway 50.

The south fork is open all year to barbless C&R, but it's also cold and high righ now...

I'm with you though... Cold and high has never stopped me in the past.

That was why I swung by when I was in the area last week. The problem is that they close the road apparently durring snow conditions. Perhaps they had opened it since then. All I know is that it is a long way to go and get to a locked gate. The only other option in the area is the S Fork American and there is very little public access that I am aware of. It was very pretty though.
