We use to fish Pyramid Lake over 30 years ago.

Joe Shirshac would take his travel trailer and park it right on the beach. When you got real cold we would go back to the trailer for hot coffee, hot soups and chili beans.

We would have a CFFU outing every year in February.

This was pre-step ladder fishing so it was dam cold. We wore Seal-Dri stocking foot latex waders or big chest waders with lots of underwear.

Rods we 9' #9 fiberglass 2 piece Fenwicks with 25 feet of leadcore line because the fastest line in those days was the SA Hi-D (type III) shooting head. We used Cortland Cobra flat mono shooting line too.

We fished a big black Wooly Worm (pre-Wooly Bugger time) and a little light colored one above it on a dropper.

Back then people fished for the big Cutthroats from November through March but today I think they fish into May?

Pyramid Lake makes a great place for a group outing.

Wow Bruce...............was that this winter?

I heard that 100 years ago there were so many big Cutthroat trout in Lake Tahoe and Pyramid Lake that they commercial fished them and hauled them on the train down to San Francisco.

Guess it was true......
