FYI,
I don't know if this site has been posted here before http://www.charliesflyboxinc.com/flybox/index.cfm It is one of my favorite sites for really in-depth recipes and techniques. Charlie Craven works with John Barr quite a bit and the two of them have obviously developed some amazing patterns. Thought some of you guys might like to take a look. Here are a couple examples:

Lead Eye Gonga (sculpin): http://www.charliesflyboxinc.com/flybox/details.cfm?parentID=171

Slumpbuster (my favorite streamer): http://www.charliesflyboxinc.com/flybox/details.cfm?parentID=37

Soft Hackle (cool technique): http://www.charliesflyboxinc.com/flybox/details.cfm?parentID=155

An absolutely fantastic site. I found it about a year ago and it has helped me tremendously with nearly all of the patterns that I tie. My favorite streamer is also the slumpbuster, which I recently tied for the lake swap. I've exchanged a few emails with Charlie, and he's a great guy as well as a world class fly tier!

And not only is the site great (thanks for the post davkrat), I bought the book by Charlie, "Basic Fly Tying, Modern Techniques for Flies That Catch Fish," and wow, what a great book. His techniques are helping me in a fly swap where I'm tying up a bunch of Royal Wulffs.

One of my top bookmarks. My favorite: http://www.charliesflyboxinc.com/flybox/details.cfm?parentID=130
The E.P. Minnow. A super pattern for saltwater and freshwater.

I don't usually spend a lot of time looking through patterns, I'm more into creating my own, but I just went through this site to see if I could find something new and found this version of the Humpy: http://www.charliesflyboxinc.com/flybox/details.cfm?parentID=143 There are several little tricks in there that you would never learn on your own. That site is better than any tying book I have ever bought!

Perhaps this is because you haven't read Charlie Craven's tying book yet? I would argue that even intermediate-to-advanced tiers would learn something from "Charlie Craven's Basic Fly Tying."
