Got down to the river about 4:45 but lets skip ahead. I went downstream and saw the same fish rise three times. i threw a cast and before i could mend, my fly was freight trained. The fish took me across the stretch i was fishing and then went downstream. This fish would not stop going airborne. I tried to get him to the slower water. Every time I tried to get him to slower water he went back into the current. I finally got him into the slower water. he was about 5 feet away from me when he shook his head and my line went slack. he was gone. checked my line and just stood there staring at the water. I couldn't beleive it, this fish was about 28-30''. One of the biggest steelhead I have ever hooked. will be back at it wednesday.

Yeah, the fish got off, and I know that stings a bit, but what a fight!
I agree with Darian. Big 'thumbs-up' and a bunch of smiles.
Way to go,
Kurt

Guppy,
Most of the time I don't even mind if I don't land them, they pull so hard and the fight is so fun that just fealing their energy is enough for me most of the time. Anytime I go fishing and have an experiance like the one you had, I consider that a sucess. Great Job!

Did you get that at Sara Court?
I work near there and fish there sometimes before work.

Wow Guppy you got my heart pumping now.

We have had multiple reports of larger spring run steelhead entering the river lately.

I am very busy with my new online store so please, everyone that can try to get out there now.

These fish are feeding so not a lot of need for indicators right now.

March/April/May is prime time for spring run steelhead that run 12" to 6 pounds.

Swing something and keep moving downstream.
