We have had a lot of wintery weather up here in the Sierras the past few weeks. The Truckee has gone up and has been a bit blown out from last weeks’ rain. It has since come down and is still somewhat high for this time of year. Below Hirschdale, it is clear and fishable. I guess we will see if this next weeks’ storms muddy up the river. Access is really not an issue as recent storms have brought mostly rain and mild temperatures in Truckee with most of the snow falling in the high country above 7000 ft. This morning I went out and swung some flies through a certain run I like up from my house. This guy took a larger tan size caddis pupae off the back off a bunny leech.
