I was chatting with old friend Al Smatksy at the Pleasanton show yesterday about bass fishing at the ranch and the timing.

I told him I like to fish in May for good top water in Nor Cal.

He said that he and Jay Murakoshi had good fishing starting in March last spring.

Al said March, April, May and June are all good months for bass at Kelsey.

If you haven't fish there it is a very nice clear 110 acre pond with great fishing.

bill,

I love fishing Kelsey. As a matter of fact, if the rains don't hit too hard, I'll be there this coming week. Or if Fresno doesn't get a down pour I'll be chasing carp along the Kings river, Millerton Lake or some of the sloughs. I just found out about another lake just a little east of Kelsey that I might check out. Gotta try out the new RIO carp line.

It was great seeing you and the group at the Pleasanton show yesterday. It seemed like it took you an hour too view each aisle. But hey when you have a lot of friends like you do, it's always nice to visit.

See you in April

Jay

GREAT pond Bill,
It does seem well managed for very nice average sized bass production.
It is quite a hoot plying the grassy flats with a top-water frog immi.

We were witness to a bass trying to pull a crow from a branch hanging close over the water once. Blackbird, we have heard of.....crow, not.

Lee-

You got me thinking about a Crow Fly? Hummingbird wings dont hold up over two or three bass, I'll come up with something! Thanks for the ideal.

I remember that day, Lee. The way Shawn described it was a hoot.
