Anyone played around with the RIO T-17? What do you think? Thanks, Matt.

I'm with you, Matt...what is this stuff?
Bought some at the shop and think I'm gonna cut it for an 8' and 12' length for deep pockets and holes respectively.
Probably try it on a nearly indestructible Sage Z-Axis 8110 for starters to get a feel for it...hope the 12' length works on my Z-Axis 9143- I think I'm gonna like it for BC...???
Always the question- bigger diameter...will it really sink any better?
Report to follow after this weekend...

I have used it on my 8129 z axis. it is great for some of the deeper water slots where you need to drop a fly in fast or for the head of a pool where the big kings like to lay. I think it sinks to fast for traditional steelhead runs and the softer water that steelhead lay in.

We have it in the standard 30' coils and in bulk by the foot.

Bruce was using a 10' tip on his 6126 with the 475 skagit short this weekend - we were on the South Fork Eel which was still a bit on the high side in the runs we hit but it handled well and worked fine in typical steelhead runs.
Mike McCune indicated he has started using the stuff quite a bit with tips to 10'.
I think 12' would have been tough on the 6126 though with an unweighted fly it would have worked
