In my search for a good trout fishing lake in this cold weather, I found Pardee. I didn't have any success at Rancho Seco, and caught 1 at Amador 3 weeks ago, but after fishing Pardee on Friday, I'll be back there on Thursday. We had to go about 5.5 Mi in, all the way to the headwaters. My buddy and I C&R 19, all 16" or over holdovers. They were all absolutely great fighters, with one 20" thrown in. Water temp was 50.5 in the main body, getting as cold as 43 in the narrows. We were using Type III Uniform sink with wooly buggers and had a great time until a storm came in very quickly and we had to fight the choppy main body all the way back. The cove at the boat ramp also has good fishing, but nothing like the fish we were getting way in there. Its a little pricy, $24 for 2 fishing and a boat, but well worth it.

Thanks for the report Ted, I've been wondering how the local lakes were fishing.
