Been guiding and fishing the East Walker in Nv. on the old Rosaschi Ranch. With the dry, warm weather the fishing has been good. Midge hatch that blankets the water. Sz 16 light green larva under indicator has worked well. Sz 14-20 dries also working, parachute Adams has been best. Yesterday my buddy Dave and I did well. Lots of fish under the indicator. Biggest were 3 rainbows 18"-20". Between us a dozen or more on dries, biggest about 14"

Flows are low but water has a tea color to it which is not typical of this time of year. Normally water is crystal clear. If weather continues we should have a skawala hatch start in late feb. Great dry fly action with big dries!

In mid Jan went to Mammoth and fished the Upper Owens. It was great! If you have the chance go for a few days.

Don't let winter keep you indoors- Get out and fish!

Thanks for the report, Chris. Sounds like you guys had a fun day on the Ranch!

Around Mammoth, we just got some much needed snow. Over 3 feet of new on the Mountain as of Monday morning.

Access to the Upper Owens and Hot Creek may be a bit more difficult, for a bit.
