Loops?

On the Rio Lines they advertise "welded loops" I've got a bunch of homemade tips and I was wondering is their a way to duplicate those at home? Any secrets out that are worth sharing?

It was four pages back but it looks slick... just one question...

How do you do it? 1/8" heat shrink tubing? Where do you find that? I'm pretty sure I can find a heat gun around. Do you strip the fly line down to the core or double over a running line?

Ok... that was more than one question, but it is a good indication of where I need to start looking.
