Week after week I see the same dozen or so serious fly fishers catching a Steelhead here and there on the river.
If you or I go once a year we are not likely to hook anything, frankly because it is not that easy but if we go more often or go with a good guide we will have a chance to feel that mighty Steelhead pull violently on the line.
January and February are prime time for the larger winter-runs but in the Spring, March/April/May, we get more Halfpounders and some wild spring-run medium size (3-6#) Steelhead too.
Unless we get flooded out with high water we can have a good chance to catch Steelhead for the next 5 months here in our local river.
Get a new 2009 CA fishing license and get out there...........
