............are in the Lower American River right now.
Not many but they have been caught recently.
According to veteran Steelheaders Al Perryman and Joe Shirshac December is the best time to catch the big ones in the lower river before they get up to the Sailor Bar/Sunrise area which opens January 1st.
I would try for them anywhere from Goethe Park down stream to Cal-Expo/Paradise Beach area.
Get out there and catch one..................
