I visited the site Bill shared and it is truly a flavor of what Pacific salmon and steelhead fishing was and to a lesser extent, is all about today.

"The Angler's Coast" by Russell Chatham is a hard copy book I enjoy every time I open it. If you are a Norcal fly junkie you need to check it out! Not just about Pacific salmon and steelhead, Russ recounts his early experiences nailing stripers off Red Rock. The pictures of Russ, Bill Schaadt and others fishing our waters in a time when life was simpler emphasize the dedication these pioneers displayed in laying the groundwork for all of us who have followed.

Kudos to the folks researching and creating this magnificent work to pay tribute to those who pioneered what was, is and may be in the future, if guardianship means anything in the modern world...
