I decided that I want to start adding some more black and white images to my portfolio. I feel that a black and white image has to be much stronger than a color image to pull the viewer in. This is my first attempt. I would love to hear any thoughts or comments.

I really like the photo as it brings back some fond memories but find the contrast too surrealistic in this one. I do agree that black & white photos are striking, tho. :cool:

Thanks for your interesting perspective Darian. I was definitely going for an ethereal feel to the image. The way the scene was backlit and the way these sea stacks seemingly pop up out of nowhere made me feel as though I was on another planet. They almost looked like they were standing guard, so I wanted to make them dominate the scene. I felt that by under exposing them to the point where they had no detail would let the mind wander a bit.

Thanks again for your comments. Good or bad, they always help.
