The Fish and Game commision recently conveined a meeting in which the possiblity of having the big lake locked off to trailer boats was discussed.
As we speak, TRPA is having metal gates built for all ramps on the lake. The gates can be closed in the event that enforcement cannot be aquired to deal with a directive from the TRPA board. The directive points the enforecment responbility of inspecting all bopats at all ramps to "CA Dept of Boating and Waterways". They in turn, have shrugged, as they deal with the state budget. A really cool fishing opportunity for many of us may just disappear-- unless you have the money-- and TRPA REALLY LIKES money.
I knew there was a reason I should wait for that new 4-stroke. I may miss a few winters of trolling for those wonderful rainbows and browns.
See, now here's a thing you all should know-- especially if you're like me and enjoy throwing streamers under low light outside Emerald Bay.
