Truckee Report

Fished the area below the bridge right next to the private section yesterday. The river is down at least a foot from when I fished the same spot a month ago. Rocks that I was standing above for cover last time are now exposed and I was standing on to sight fish from yesterday. Stuck four fish and got three in hand all 16 to 18 inchers. Three landed were all on tan Fox pupa. One took a size 18 parachute adams but he broke me off when I grabbed his tail. Two more took the adams but I was a little quick on the draw and missed both. Fished from 7:30 to 12:30 and had at least 10 more refusals on the adams once they started taking dries. The best part was I caught my first fish on a fly I tied.

Sounds like it would be worth taking a quick run up to the Truckee River.

I think the only thing better than catching fish on a fly you tied yourself is watching other people catch fish on a fly you tied yourself. :-)
