fished the klamath both at happy camp and orleans for three days returning tuesday. all in all, not so great in terms of numbers but great weather and beautiful floats. Some half pounders each day and one adult each for the two of us - taken within fifteen minutes of each other on monday afternoon. Started off swinging on floating lines but did better on type 3 shooting heads with sinking running lines later in the trip. Local advice was "low and slow" -- and that wisdom seemed to prevail with more hookups, though its not as much fun as throwing a full float or a tip... and truly stinks when there is no room for a back cast. Gear guys we met did well it seemed bouncing yarn balls along the bottom in 10' of water with 2 oz sinkers....
Klamath is great for getting away from crowds and I would love to get back there and try to dial it in... wouldn't mind some misty/drizzly weather either... I think the bright sun of the last week may have made it tough to get the steel to move to a swung fly...
