Actually many lakes are very good now.
Here is a fishing report from the CFFU club of Sacramento:

Grab your rod & head to Baum Lake in the Burney/Hat Creek area while
the weather is still good.
Fished Baum Lake with Bill Ozawa this past Sunday and Monday, and it
was smokin' ! Fish whatever you want, including both wet and dry
flies and you'll have a blast. I had a Russ Heckley "Fuller Lake"
day, and caught #51 (yes, fifty-one) fish on Sunday and #30 the next
day. Fish were running 1.5-3lb, including both rainbows and browns.
Barry Tang was up a few days before us and had a great trip too.
