October is a top month for fall run Steelhead on many rivers in Nor Cal and further north too.
They are coming into many Nor Cal valley rivers now with the Lower Feather River being one of the best bets.
The Klamath,lower Trinity, Rogue, North Umpqua and Deschutes are all normally good in October.
October is not too hot and not too cool so the fish will move to the fly.
