Truckee River

First, let me apologize for no pictures. My wife and I stayed with some friends near Alpine meadows. I snuck out of the cabin for a few hours to go hit the truckee. I fished the section of river below River Ranch down to Squaw Valley. The Truckee has always been a tough one to figure out. I was determined to catch something and I was pleasantly surprised. For only fishing 2 hours in the middle of the day, I ended up with 2 browns. one 15in and 8in. Both on size 14 BH PT's I tied up. Always nice to catch fish on flies you tie.

My buddy was telling me browns are more active during the mid-day. Any truth to that?

I'd always heard the really big browns are most active at night but I don't know if that is true.

Good job on the fish -- agree it's always nice to catch fish on flies you tied yourself. 8)
