My wife found this little guy on the bottom of our pool, can anyone identify it.

Looks an awful lot like a wolf spider to me.

I was thinking a wolfy, but the ones I usually see around and in the house were nowhere near that size. They are one of my favorite spiders.

Yeah, I work in Natomas.... We have HUGE wolf spiders here.
The QC guys are scared of them... LOL. :lol:

No, no...you guys are waaaaay off on this one. That my friends is the infamous and deadly California Drowning Spider, from the genus Cannotus Swimus. Also, a common nickname is the Quarter Dollar Spider. :lol: :lol:

Maybe that spider's got a whole stash of quarters down at the bottom of your pool. :lol:

A quarter sized wolf spider is actually fairly small!
I saw one that would have barely fit in the palm of my hand (it wasn't a California Tarantula either. Unfortunately, I have also seen those) :eek:
And I hate spiders...
