Releases from Lost Creek Res. are being cut by 75 cfs/day. Now at about 1,650 cfs going to 1,100 cfs. There are about 2,900 summer steelhead over Gold Ray Dam and about an equal number of fall chinooks. Temperature of the Rogue is 59 in the Grants Pass area. Some hot weather lately with highs between 94-97. That is suppose to change starting tomorrow going to the mid-70's during the day and high 40's at night. Still early in my opinion. Have been out two morning this week and hooked or saw nothing.

A pretty summer/fall Rogue steelhead

Hey Gordon, good to see you're getting your season underway. Beautiful fish, by the way. The color on those cheeks is amazing. 8)

If I undersatnd Gordon right, thats a fish from a previous year. Its pretty slim pickins up here once again this year. I havnt fished for steelhead since march. Its probably time I gave it a whirl...hard to get excited tho.

Yes Jay that fish was from about four summers ago. If my timing model is even close to accurate the total summer/fall run should be about 6,316 fish. The 61 year average is 7,102 and the last ten year average has been 12,950 but that was skewed with two huge years of 20,297 fish and the all time high of 29.296 fish. Last year the run over Gold Ray Dam was 7568.
