Junction City weir count: Sept. 3-9
Chinook: 24 grilse 42 adults
Steelhead: ZERO

That does not surprise me, most of the early-season steelhead stop before the north fork. Do you have a willow creek weir count? That's the one to watch until the rains come.

I'll check. I believe they said that they started the Willow Creek counts later in the season. A great majority of the $$$$$$ is based on the salmon fisheries, for better or worse. I am confident that they are using the Willow Creek weir counting station because that site gives them the best information for the salmon runs. B.T.W., there has not been any cohos in the count as of Sept. 9th. I seem to remember last year @ this time we saw quite a few in the lower Klamath.

They do not post the Willow Creek weir count as far as I know. Ed Duggan usually posts the weekly count on his website.

i wouldnt not fish the trinity because the weir counts are low. They dont trap and count fish 24/7 on the trinity this early in the run. It may only be a couple of days a week.
