I fished the south fork american river last night and landed 12-15 fish (all 6-10 inches) within the last hour of day light. My wife caught her first fish on a dry fly (her only fish of the night).....beautiful rainbow about 14-15 inches. Caddis (big ones) and stimulators did the trick. I also fished the west fork of the carson the night before and got into a few cutthroats. Such beautiful fish and a gorgeous sunset to cap off a great evening. If anybody is interested in catching an evening hatch on the south fork, drop me a pm. All the best!

That last hour of sunset is awesome up there right now, I was hitting the South Fork of the American and Silver Fork every Wednesday after work and the bite has gotten better in the last hour of light, but I noticed prior to the last hour of sun the bite had actually slowed down a bit compared to other nights. I'll still be there on the weekends but it is steelies in the the valley time right now.
