Enjoyed the pleasure of sitting next to Dan at one of the evening "Fishermen's Dinners" at the Steamboat Inn 10+ years ago. What a true gentleman of our sport! Even though his "day job" was working as an attorney, it was piercingly clear that Dan most enjoyed his time spent fishing and photographing his love of his life, the North Umpqua. I have yet to see the volume, but shall purchase it because Dan embodies all that is great about flyfishing the North Umpqua. Vets and newbies alike will learn what a treasure this river has been, is and will continue to be...I am positive the book will occupy a place of honor on the coffee table or in the library of every "true" west coast steelheader!
