I fished a stretch I haven't fished before on the South Fork above Alder creek. Went out Wednesday after work and got there around 5:30. Lots of deep water good for nymphing but I was only carrying dry flies, which is what I planned. Didn't get any takes for about 45 or minutes. But once they were ready to come up they came up in descent numbers. Got a couple to hand and LDR'ed a good number. Once the hatch started around 7:30 they were flying out of the water everywhere. If you stood still long enough they would jump right next to you. Had a lot of fun playing with small fish and with the occasional descent fish. What a sight to watch a good 9"+ size trout come all the way out of the water to attack a dry fly. Some of these trout were getting totally out of the water.
