Carl, that is a very interesting perspective on the poon guides. That is what I have heard and combined with the fact that Fl guides are expensive, I have been fishing in Belize. The guides we are using are pretty laid back, they don't yell, we just fish for fish and they are less expensive than Florida. Its a real blast and we catch a lot of fish, including tarpon. They may not be as big as the Florida poons but they are sure fun. On the first trip two years ago, 4 of us caught 27 species of fish in 10 days. We had about 6 others the last time including about 25 tarpon up to 70 pounds. I would like to experience FL once but I am not sure I like the idea of big egos.
