Had a great morning fishing above the bridge yesterday. I had not fished the Yuba this year and was pleased to see the fishery very healthy. No surface activity, but my second cast with a nymph rig resulted in a fat 18 incher that thought it was 25".

Netted 10 in the 3.5 hours I was there but fought and lost another 10 or so. All were 14" plus, with an average around 16". Here was the smallest:

and another 18 incher:

Caught all on the same #16 beadhead Fox Pupah (worm brown body) under a stonefly nymph. That Pupah still has its antennae after all of that, although the hook looks a little bent out:

There were no other fishermen. Is there some sort of panty plague that keeps fishermen out from above the bridge, Zonker?
