Fish time I have ever fished a small creek for trout was yesterday. I wish I would have done it sooner. I headed up to a mid-elevation small creek. Despite ripping my shorts, and falling down on slippery rocks about 15 times, I had a great day. I caught between 20 and 25 fish (I stopped counting after 10). All were small between 6 and 10 inches, but man was it fun to use my little three wieght for those greedy little guys. All were caught on drys in pockets, shallow runs and the heads of pools. I can't wait to get back!

Nice job Charles, I am glad to see you are able to get away. How is the new addition to the family?

He is great! He's already is spoiled rotten. I have been on vacation for the last 22 days so I have spent a lot of time with him and the girls. I thanked my wife for the day off to go fishing, it was so good to get my trout fix. I can't wait unitl I can get him out fishing with his sisters. Here are some pictures of him with his sisters.

Hey Charles,.... Small streams are wonderful, private places for re-stokin' the ol' furnace just like you did. 8) 8)

Kinda sounds like you need to invest in some felt soled wading shoes, tho. Be careful out there and avoid injuries. The family will appreciate it (good lookin photo's). :D :D :D

Yup, shorts get ripped (check out mine in latest post :D ), reels get dinged up and the body suffers much bruising from falls. All well worth it in the pursuit of the lil' wild ones! Well done Charles and welcome to the world of the finest type of fishing around, creekin'. I use a ski pole, it helps , but is not foolproof in avoiding spills.
