Clearlake information ??

I am going to Clearlake around the 13th of July for a couple of days and would appreciate any info I can get - Flies, area, whatever. I am taking my boat and a float tube . Thanks, Dave

i have not fished Clear Lake but just talked to a buddy on Thursday that was up there getting 20-25 bass a day in the 2-5 lb range on top water. Should be good!

Might want to roll with the 8wt because they like to play in the weeds. A buddy snap his XP in half last year on a 8 lb bass...

Just got back from there. I was working the area around and in the state park with great results early in the morning. Used a float tube and small ( size 10) swimming frog patterns. Mostly about 3 lb.s.

Later in the day the winds will blow you off the lake unless you have a protected location.

Tried some fishing from the boat later in the day / evening but winds made it tough. Water between 80 and 83 degrees from mornig til night and no smoke from the fires.
