Lake Almanor Hex hatch is bringing fat smallies on nymphs and dries! The water is so warm near the surface it amazes me we are still catching trout.
I was using a SA type 3 full sink and hand tied flouro leader and got several fish on Sunday night. It was my first time in a pontoon and it was quite a scene! :lol: Smoke was bad on Sunday, though.
Friday was better, with a 3-3.5 lb smallmouth on a nymph and a 21" brown on the surface. My buddy landed a brown and rainbow, both 18", and a smallie, 14", all on the surface.
