.............please don't wait till August to get out.
There are so many trout fisheries doing well right now it would be hard to choose. Both lakes and streams are good.
Stripers and Shad are in the rivers.
Bass & panfish are still good.
In the bright sunlight mid-afternoons should be avoided.
You need to be at a the higher elevations (8000'+) or out of state in August. Our Pacific coast is nice and cool in August.
