I thought that I would warn and caution anyone who is thinking of fishing or camping on or near the Trinity River anytime soon.
Hwy 299 is closed in at least few spots because the fires have crossed the highway and river. The USFS have evacuated Big Bar and a few other communities. The air quality is not safe with ash and particulate in the air.
The USFS is here protecting dwellings/people, but will not be aggressively fighting the fires. Therefore, the fires will be burning until rain in October, just like in 1987 and 1999.
Be careful not to get caught by this impending and worsening situation.
