This winter I wanna take a week long trip via car to somewhere in the PNW (OR, WA,) to fish for Steelhead. Where would you recommend I go? Thanks to anyone who replies.

I would head to the olympic pennisula in washington. There you have the Sol Duc Bogachiel , Calawah and the Hoh. I would reccomend you get a guide to fish the streams there.

Another option would be to fish northwest Oregon out of Tillamook - as Shawn suggested, I would highly recommend a guide for at least one day and you can't beat either Scott O'Donnel or Mike McCune - they are not only great guides but excellent teachers in the art of spey casting!!!

Why wait for winter? Hit the summer runs on the NU, Rogue or Deschutes in September. Weather's still warm, fish are in, and they are looking up at dries. All you need is a floating line a few wakers and a few classic wets. What more could you ask for?

If you want to chase winter runs the Oregon coast is a good bet. I've fished the rivers RickJ mentioned unguided and done well. The southern oregon coast has a tremendous number of opportunities as well. Talk to Trophy Waters in Medford for southern oregon.

Tillamook would be a good choice... the wilson river is right there, and it is one of the most underrated rivers in Oregon. You also have the trask about two minutes away.... and within a 30 minute drive away you have Pacific city which has a river which runs through it which has a lot of steelhead in it. Another option to think about in WA is the Methlow in Eastern washington.
