This is prime time for local fishing very close to home.
Keep your tackle in your vehicle so you can go out after work now.
May/June is a great time to fish right around here with many fisheries going well.
Shad in many rivers, especially in the Lower American River now.
Stripers are spread all over now too.
Bass & panfish is in full swing now with this warm weather.
Trout in lakes should be doing well now at low to mid-elevations.
Trout streams should be warming up now too but many are still cold.
By July much of our local low elevation fisheries are too warm except for early and late in the day.
