Aloha, I took Tom Hobson out today for some inshore action on the kohala coast. I told him not to eat papio for sashimi! We had a good time and he landed a couple of small papio. We lost some barracuda, and he had three milkfish on only to have them come off, for one reason or another. Mostly cause they are so tough to land with that soft mouth. He was a great guy, and we had a good time hitting the Kona spots.

The first year we went to Christmas Island (mid-1980s) it was a different kind of place than it is now. Very wild with few people.

We were wading with our native guide and I caught a small Trevally on my bonefish fly that was about 5 pounds. The guide ran at the fish and gabbed my fly line and pulled the fish to him. He then carried it by the tail as we continued to walk the flats looking for bonefish.

We look over an notice he was eating this fish raw and alive, kind of like "corn on the cob"?
