After a fairly frustrating day of fishing i was rewarded with this on my last cast.

I'm really glad i decided to drag the boat net along today!!! this fish peeled off a LOT of backing and somehow snagged my top fly in two different snags. The telescoping handle of that net is probably the only reason I landed that fish (well that and a TON of luck). I used the handle to knock the fly off of the two different logs that this fish snagged me in, which required me to do some deep (read: stupid) wading. I took off my backpack before going in so i didn't get my camera wet. when i went in to free my flies from the snag i turned around and see some guy rummaging through my bag :x, so i reached down to grab a rock (filling my waders with water) and threw it at him. he scurried off into the bushes ... Damn tweakers. I freed the fish from the snags, landed it, released it, and started the drive home without making another cast.

I'm going to estimate it at about 22"? what do you think? the rod handle and reel seat together is 11" long

Beuaty of a fish, I wish I had been there to take care of the guy going through your backpack. But then again if there were 2 people he probaly wouldn't have tried that.

Extra kudos to you for showing us how fish pictures should be taken..in the water! Great work.

I'm thinking probably more like 23, 23.5.

Way to go!!!

22 inches easy.
Great pictures, especially the second one. I agree with bigtj, that is the way to take fish pictures. Great fish, great job.

Charles,

The fish Dusty caught was really nice. I am responding because Dusty, George ,Andre, Dayne and myself have raised my austisic son. They look very normal so people don't understand them. I salute you for putting this on your post.

Take care and the best
