Has anybody been up in the Wrights Lake area. Did they do any good? I have only fished it in the heat of the summer (with very good luck). Just curious; looking to take a day trip.

Thanks for any help,
Charles

Hi Charles, I was just wondering the same thing. Checked the Forest Service site and it says the road is still closed.

Hey Charles. Do you hit Wright's from a float tube or canoe? Seems like a tough lake to navigate by shore. I would hit Dark lake for the 12-16 inch cookie cutter browns too.

I just fished the cove just to the right of the boat launch. You could see dozens of fish cruising in the channel. Between my stepdad and I, we caught at least 20 fish in about 4 hours ( in august). I have always fished it from shore by the boat launch.

Here are some picts. from my last trip.

the fish in the stream that feeds out of the lake are absolutely HUGE, i spent like 2 hours trying to hook one last time i was up there and got one at about 23"

Years ago I went there with my fishing buddy Mel. We took our kids along and did a lot of swimming and fishing.

At both ends it is deeper and that is where the fish usually hang out.

Be sure to take a snorkel so you can see the fish. It is shallow and very clear so you can see every fish in there.

We spotted some really big Brown trout in there.

Dark Lake is right next door and is a better fly fishing lake.
