I would be up in Dunsmuir from mid-May to mid-July for some smoken' hot fly fishing.
Top Nor Cal guide Fred Gordon called today and said the river is good right now during a cold spell like they are having the next few days.
On the hot periods the runoff is higher which is not as good for fly fishing.
By mid-May the runoff should be gone.

There are lots of good place to stay and many nice restaurants in Dunsmuir and Mount Shasta too.
