Shad at the mouth of the A.!!!!

"The shad are in at the mouth of the American and above, mostly males, if this helps....and we get to use 2 rods!!..I release all as I have had smoked shad 20 different ways and only once was it tasty...we caught almost 100 this last weekend on Bill Adelman fly rods and secret flies....
that's what I'm talking about!!! 2 Stripers too....."

It was great news. Now watch the hordes descend on Discovery Park. Was out there last night, 4 people fishing for shad total. There were more striper guys than shad. It was empty enough that fly fishing was possible. Not anymore. Gonna take out the fly rod today but I imagine its going to be much more crowded that the word is getting out. Just to give you an idea of what this place looks like during shad season, a 100 yd strech of beach often has over 100 people fishing. It's a madhouse.

Oh yeah, caught about half dozen with many more lost. Had lots of grabs that didn't connect. Called it quits before dark too since that wind was mighty cold.
