Made the trip up to the Pit last weekend and fished around Big Bend on Pit 5. I was suprised to find the water in good condition with water temps around 53 in the afternernoon and a slight green tint to the water. The first evening fished well with a dozen to hand around 12-14". Micro mays and birds nests did the trick. The next day fished well but it took a while to find the fish. They weren't in the usual pockets and fast water, but in the slower runs and tailouts. Smaller bugs seemed to get bit more often and going through a spot multiple times payed off. Many fish seemed to be skinny like they had just spawned, but a few 15-16"ers were fat and fired up. It should get good here real quick once the nights warm up and the bugs start to get a little more acitve.

ps - the whitewater flows really helped to clear out some of the bank brush, which made stumbling up the river a little easier.
