I just spent the past week with my brother in colorado. He works in beaver creek, a ski resort, and lives in an apartment right on the Eagle River. The fishing was alright, and ill post some pictures of that later, but there was one dipper that i got some pictures of. All of these were taken on a tripod with my usual 500mm.

The detail is incredible in those pictures. You can actually see the black fly larva in his beak in the 3rd shot.

Say hey Ben,
You and the board members might enjoy the personal accounts & admiration that John Muir had for the Water Ouzel. You can find his encounters with this bird in his book "The Mountains of California." They really are an amazing little creature. I love watching them do their thing.
Cheers, Ken

Right on Ken! I've got that book and I agree with Muir wholeheartedly. Ed
