I fished the American for a little over an hour on Friday afternoon. I hooked and landed two beautiful fish. I assume they were Steelhead as both measured a full 23" in length. I think one was wild as its adipose fin was not clipped. It certainly fought harder and longer than the other one. The one with the clipped adipose fin also had some kind of fungus on its head - kind of like what the salmon get when they've been in the river for awhile. I caught both of them on an E/C Caddis, size 16. Both times I could observe the fish rising and cast to that fish. I took a bunch of photos, but somehow managed to delete them - sorry. I'll get this fish photo thing right someday. Charlie Gonzoles was fishing near me - thanks for cheering me on!
