First steelie of the year

Decided to head out to the American River last night and that was a good idea. Got my first steelie, a very nice/acrobatic hatchery about 18 or 19 inches. Took a size 14 poopah. The caddis hatch was insane last night, I am still getting them out of my ears and mouth and every where, nice big fat caddis also. Saw a lot of fish surfacing.

I tried to take her picture but she did not want anything to do with that. I was just about to push the button when she practically slapped me in the face with her tail and said see-ya.

Tan as always. I might try a green one I tied up last night. Come on out one of these nights and say hello and catch one yourself. I will be out every night next week. You know where I'll be.
