A classic dee style Akroyd. These are my favorite flies to tie! The pic didn't turn out so great as the golden pheasant tippets look really yellow though they are orange. Need to work on my fly pics.

I think it was Trey Combs who some years back had a Steelhead patterns book with color photos.

I counted how many different color categories there were in that book.

Tons of black patterns.

Lots of orange ones too.

Many purple flies.

And yes, there were enough yellow Steelhead patterns to get my attention.

Looks great , Jason !

I used to tye a Spey version of the Undertaker - it looked fantastic but I never got a single take on it ..... do you catch many on that style of fly ?

David :)

David, I have yet to hook a fish on a dee style pattern but hopefully this year as I plan to fish them quite a bit more. I have hooked many fish on spey style patterns like the orange heron and traditional bronze mallard wing spey flies. I have also done fairly well for summer steelhead on a traditional undertaker. It's actually one of my go to flies.
