North Coast Beauty

Here is a picture of a North Coast Beauty from a week ago. The fish is a wild hen estimated at 14 pounds. We spent 4 days floating and wading four rivers and did not get a lot of grabs. My observation from the trip is the wild north coast steelhead is like the old growth redwood. About 98% of them are gone and we need to take really good care of the ones we have left.

Actually one fish in a life time like that one, especially on a fly, is all you need to get emotionally attached to wild Steelhead.

That is a very special fish............thanks a lot for sharing it with us.
