About mid-day fished the Applegate River with a friend on his property. Hooked and lost a fish of about 23" and then caught and released this 28-29" wild steelhead on my trusty bead head nymph. Blue bird weather today.

As someone who rose at 0' dark hundred to fish "public water" on the Applegate on March 8, 1997 and was fortunate enough to land three beauties from 26 1/2 to 29 1/2 " before 7:00 AM, YOU"RE KILLING ME!!!
But that's O.K., glad to know the fishery still thrives, you lucky b--tard!

Any chance that the flows on the Applegate will increase by the end of the month? They seem a little skimp compared to the past few years.

Don't think the flows will increase as we had a dry February and they are holding water so Applegate Lake will get to full pool in late spring. The inflow to Applegate Lake is about 500 cfs now.
