We carry more two-handed fly fishing equipment than any other fly shop in California.
Up in the Northwest (OR/WA) there are a half dozen excellent fly shops who do carry lots of two-handed stuff too.
This came about for us because of several factors:
1) Jeff Putnam is here in Sacramento, CA on the Lower American River teaching two-handed techniques full time. Jeff is one of the few FFF certified two-handed casting instructors and Jeff is an incredible teacher.
2) We have also worked with Simon Gawesworth of Rio for a long time having him come here to Sacramento to teach two-handed techniques.
3) We are also very fortunate to have a great two-handed river, the Lower American, about 20 minutes from our shop.
4) Our shop has a very long history of promoting traditional steelhead methods and now with the increasing popularity of the two-handed sport, more people are swing flies for Steelhead than ever.
5) Lastly, we have a wonderful two-handed family here in Sacramento who casually meet under the Watt Avenue Bridge on the Lower American River almost every day of the year.
