Had a great trip to Chilean Patagonia last week. Stayed at Rex Bryngelson's La Posada de Los Farios (Inn of the Brown Trout) on the Rio Cisnes, which was outstanding. 20-30+ trout every day with great weather. I don't have all of the photos yet, but here are a few.

Had fun chucking large beetle patterns most of the week, I guess to imitate the huge beetles there (see cantaria photo under the entomology forum), but those browns just seem to hit almost anything big with rubber legs. They also hit mouse patterns in mid day. I think what I loved best was when I missed a strike on a big monster beetle, gypsy king, or mouse pattern, and the the trout would just circle around at the surface looking for the bug until I cast it to them again. I'm not sure what strain of brown trout was originally introduced there, but they sure don't behave like the spooky ones I'm used to in the U.S. Maybe it is just the lack of fishing pressure. We never saw another fisherman in 5 days of fishing.
