Heard on the news this morning that United Airlines will only allow one check in bag after Feb. 4, 2008 for travel on or after May 5, 2008.
But this is for General members of Mileplus plan and Economy fares. Limited to 50lbs. First Class is still the same - 2 bags
I also checked on American Airlines. Back in May while I was reading the Gringo Gazzette, There was an article about American airlines disallowing ice chests on their flights effective Jan. 1, 2008. But checking the baggage regs, I see they didn't go with it. They would lose way too many flyers to the fishing areas. But I also notice that most airlines are now at 50lbs per check in bag.
What's the weight on 500 salt water flies? :D
